Write down the unit before the price
AI visibility products use several billing units: saved prompts tracked daily, completed search runs, model-specific checks, corpus access and agent credits. They fund different work. A table that places these numbers next to each other without explaining the unit can suggest savings that disappear when the same workload is priced.
Start with the questions you need, market/language combinations, source coverage and repeat frequency. Add report formats, collaboration, data access and any required integrations. Keep a comparison of the measurement workload separate from a comparison of the broader product workflow.
Calculate the IndexHalo workload
Complete searches = questions × market/language combinations × runs. Selected available sources are included within the complete-search unit. For example, 25 questions in one market repeated four times require 100 searches. The same questions repeated every day for a 30-day period require 750. Two market/language combinations double either total.
If a vendor counts one check per model, the corresponding model-check quantity also multiplies by the selected models, subject to that vendor’s rules. Do not assume all models cost the same number of checks or that the same named model implies the same consumer experience.
Price your monthly allowance
Professional: $49 USD/month for 100 credits; Business: $129 USD/month for 300 credits; Agency: $299 USD/month for 750 credits. At full use, subscription price divided by the included allowance is $0.49, $0.43 and approximately $0.399 per complete search, respectively, before tax. This arithmetic is not the cost of a single AI response and is not the marginal cost of additional searches.
All IndexHalo tiers include the full feature set. Monthly credits do not roll over, so choose an allowance you expect to use for meaningful work. Reading and exporting saved evidence is free of further search-credit charges. There are no automatic overages.
Test three realistic operating patterns
- Focused company workflow: 20 questions × one market × four runs = 80 searches. A 100-credit plan leaves 20 for investigation.
- Small agency workflow: five clients × 15 questions × one market × four runs = 300 searches. A fifth weekly run would take this to 375.
- Daily monitoring: 50 questions × one market × 30 runs = 1,500 searches. This exceeds IndexHalo’s largest standard 750-credit allowance. Do not describe the Agency plan as equivalent to a 50-prompt daily-monitoring package.
Record the complete commercial terms
Use the vendor’s current checkout or quotation to verify currency, monthly versus annual commitment, taxes, source add-ons, project restrictions, additional users, API limits and any overage policy. A price advertised “per month, billed annually” is not a month-to-month contract. Preserve the quote date and the workload that produced it.
For a team already paying for a broader suite, compare incremental cost as well as the full subscription. Avoid counting features you will not use as savings. Equally, include the time needed to export, review and prepare a client deliverable. A low collection price does not automatically mean a lower operating cost.
Choose with a small repeatable evaluation
Use the same question set and market across the shortlisted products where their source coverage permits. Inspect original answers, collection labels, citations and exports. Record unknowns rather than declaring unseen features absent. IndexHalo publishes these guides, so use the linked vendor sources and your own evaluation to check the conclusions.
Your next step
Write your expected monthly search count and compare one matched quote from each shortlisted product.
