Make your next client recommendation easier to defend

The most useful client recommendation explains why a particular piece of work deserves attention now. IndexHalo gives an agency a way to connect that decision to a buyer question, the answers collected for it and the pages those answers cite. The public Typeform example below shows how to build that connection from a real saved result.

Begin with the buyer's job

The retained question asks: “What is the best online form builder for a small business collecting customer feedback and leads? Compare features, pricing and integrations.” This is a specific evaluation problem. The buyer needs to understand how the tools differ and which one suits the work.

Five usable answers were collected on 17 October 2026. Keep that question, date and answer count with the finding. They tell the client exactly which decision context the recommendation addresses and give the agency a scope it can return to.

Read brand presence and source presence together

Typeform appears in five of the five usable answers. Its own website is cited in one of the five. The combination is useful: the brand is present in this answer set, while most answers use other pages to support their discussion.

Open the answers behind both figures. Read the passage in which the brand appears, the requirements being discussed and the sources shown with the answer. This establishes what the proposed content investigation needs to explain. It also gives the client a direct route from the summary to the evidence.

Turn the citation gap into a manageable review

The current citation-gap view identifies involve.me in three answers that do not cite Typeform's own website. Start by reviewing those three answers and their cited pages. That is a defined research task with a clear connection to the client finding.

The wider source view contains 41 distinct cited pages. Sixteen are listicles, eight are comparisons and six are pricing pages. The remaining pages include home, product and documentation pages. These categories describe the cited-page mix for this question and help the reviewer understand the kinds of information available to the answer.

Read the actual pages before selecting a content change. Look for direct explanations of buyer requirements, useful comparisons, accurate feature statements and clear supporting detail. The purpose is to learn what information the buyer is being given and how the client's relevant pages contribute to that decision.

Choose one page and a specific editorial question

After the source review, select the relevant first-party comparison, pricing, product or use-case page. Frame the task as a concrete editorial question. Does this page clearly explain the integration workflow the buyer needs? Does it make the relevant product conditions easy to understand? Is there current documentation behind an important claim?

The evidence should determine the priority. A page with accurate, useful information may need a clearer explanation or a better route to its supporting documentation. A topic already covered well may lead the agency to investigate another part of the buyer's question.

Write a brief that can be completed and reviewed

Include the buyer question, the retained answer, the source links, the target page and the proposed improvement. Name an owner and define an acceptance check. IndexHalo's displayed recommendation in this example is to compare first-party evidence with the pages the answers cite, with SEO/content and product marketing suggested as owners.

A practical acceptance check might require the chosen page to explain a particular workflow accurately, link to the relevant documentation and make the product conditions clear. This is an illustrative brief structure. The owner should confirm the exact work after inspecting the sources.

When an approved change is published, keep its URL and publication date with the task. That gives the next review a concrete event to examine alongside a comparable repeat of the original question.

Make the report carry the next decision

A strong report follows a simple sequence: observed finding, supporting evidence, proposed work and next review. For this sample, the finding is five mentions and one first-party citation across five usable answers. The source investigation explains which pages deserve attention, and the brief identifies what the team should review.

The agency can use the same sequence each month while keeping each client's questions and scope separate. Repeat the core questions at planned intervals, review the retained answers and carry the next recommendation into the following reporting period.
